The first message is often the hardest to write. We hesitate, wondering if it should be long or short, serious or light, detailed or simple. But the truth is, the most meaningful messages are often the simplest.
This guide will help you take that first step.
Step 1: Decide on the format
Y.O.D.O. gives you options. You can:
✅ Write a message in text
✅ Record your voice
✅ Film a video
✅ Upload a file, such as a document or a photo album
Each format has its own kind of presence. Some people find comfort in the written word. Others prefer the sound of a voice, or the warmth of a video. Choose what feels natural for you.
Step 2: Choose your Recipient
You can send your message to one person or to many. Family, friends, partners, even colleagues. Whoever you feel should receive your words when the time comes.
If a Delegate is also a Recipient, they will still not see the message early. They will only receive it when it is meant to be released.
Step 3: Think about what matters most
Your message does not need to be perfect. It does not need to be long. A simple "I love you" can carry more weight than a thousand words.
Some ideas people choose:
✅ Reassurance: "I am at peace, and I want you to be too."
✅ Gratitude: "Thank you for standing by me."
✅ Forgiveness: "I hold no anger, only love."
✅ Practical notes: "The letter I left in the drawer is for you."
Step 4: Save and seal
Once saved, your message is sealed and stored securely. No one, not even your Delegates, can open it until the right moment.
It will wait quietly and securely, ready to bring comfort, clarity, or love when it is needed most.
Why the first message matters
Taking this step is not about expecting the worst. It is about giving yourself peace of mind, knowing that nothing important will be left unsaid.
The first message is not the end. It is the beginning. You can add, change, or delete messages whenever you want. But that first one opens the door to reassurance for you, and for the people you care about.
