    Looking for a MyWishes alternative?

MyWishes is a UK end-of-life planning suite for funeral wishes, advance care preferences and goodbye letters. Y.O.D.O. is a private communication support service: it checks in on you while you are alive, and releases sealed messages to named Recipients only after a passing has been verified.

    The short answer

Y.O.D.O. is not a replacement for MyWishes and does not try to be. MyWishes documents what should happen. Y.O.D.O. notices whether you are all right and tells the people you named if you go quiet. Most people who look at both end up using them together.

    Where Y.O.D.O. is different

MyWishes is documentation-led: templates for funeral wishes, advance care plans and letters you can store and share. Y.O.D.O. is event-led. Scheduled Check-ins run while you are alive, and if you go quiet past your chosen buffer, your Delegates are contacted. That is a thing that happens, not a thing you file.

    Release is verified, not scheduled

Sealed messages are held for named Recipients and released only after a Delegate's verified passing report, a death certificate and a dispute window. Not on a date you set, and not because someone decided the moment had come.

    What Y.O.D.O. does not do

Y.O.D.O. does not replace a will, an advance decision or a funeral plan, and it does not store legal documents or healthcare directives. If that is what you need, a dedicated end-of-life planning service is the right answer and MyWishes is a reasonable place to start.
